Another great turnout for the February tournament with some new faces and new teams.
Midlands Striper Club held its monthly Lake Murray tournament out of Acapulco, SC on February 16, 2019. 36 teams participated in the event bringing a total of 50 striped bass to the scales weighing a total of 329.80 pounds with a 6.60-pound average. 24 teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 17.64 pounds was Team Catchall captained by Lee Thomas from Leesville, SC along with Carl Thompson and Carl Thompson, Jr., both from Santee, SC.
Team Catchall also won the Justin Christopher Big Fish award sponsored by the Nichols Store with a 10.34-pound striper.
Finishing in second place with a total weight of 17.57 pounds was Team Garheart captained by Shawn Gearhart from Lexington, SC, along with Daniel Sullivan also from Lexington, SC.
Finishing in third place with a total weight of 16.94 pounds was Team Knot Right Captained by Allen Rogers from Saluda, SC, along with Mitch Long from Ward, SC.
Lady Angler Award went to Deborah Wolfe from Team Carolina River Rats.
Youth Angler Award(s) went to Sam Jones, Luke Jones, and Reed McLain from Team Jones Boys.
Finishing in eleventh place with a total weight of 13.39 pounds was Team Landlocked.
