**** MSC 2019 March TX & DNR Open TX Results ****

With a Tie at the scales, Big Fish pushes Reel Obsession for the win in the MSC March Tournament and the 2019 DNR Open Tournament.

Midlands Striper Club held its monthly Lake Murray tournament in combination with the 2019 DNR Open Tournament out of Dreher Island, SC on March 16, 2019. Forty teams participated in the MSC March Tournament and Fifty-One teams participated in the 2019 DNR Open Tournament. A total of 78 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 679.52 pounds with a 8.71-pound average. Thirty-eight teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales. Seventeen of the fish caught were 10 pounds or more.

The MSC March Tournament results are as follows:

Finishing in first place with a total weight of 28.87 pounds was team Reel Obsession captained by Colby Borland along with Chris Mills, Mike Ward, and Nick Ward all from Chapin, SC. Nick Ward also won the Youth Angler Award.

The Justin Christopher Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store also went to team Reel Obsession with a 19.53-pound striper.

Finishing in second place also with a total weight of 28.87 pounds was team Jon Boy captained by Harold Alewine along with Debbie Alewine, both from Rock Hill, SC. Debbie Alewine also won the Lady Angler Award.

Finishing in third place with a total weight of 26.39 pounds was team Anchor Management captained by Marcus Miller from Boiling Springs, SC, along with Brandon Garrett, Jimmy Boyle, and Leyton Garrett all from Spartanburg, SC.

Finishing in eleventh place with a total weight of 18.02 pounds was team Time to Fish.
