Remnants of Tropical Storm Nestor add to October Transition.
Midlands Striper Club held its monthly Lake Murray tournament out of Acapulco, SC on October 19, 2019. A total of 18 teams participated in the MSC October Tournament. With double-digit winds, nearly constant rain, and a transitioning striper population, fishing on the lake was definitely challenging. A total of 29 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 153.28 pounds with a 5.29-pound average. Fourteen teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 20.51 pounds was Team Catchall captained by Lee Thomas from Leesville, SC along with Carl Thompson and Carl Thompson, Jr., from Santee, SC.
Team Catchall also won the Justin Christopher Big Fish award sponsored by the Nichols Store with a 12.94-pound Striper.
Finishing in second place with a total weight of 13.04 pounds was Team Stone Age captained by Rick Sineath from Lexington, SC, along with Liz Sineath and RJ Sineath also from Lexington, SC.
Lady Angler Award went to Liz Sineath from Team Stone Age.
Youth Angler Award went to RJ Sineath from Team Stone Age.
Finishing in third place with a total weight of 12.51 pounds was Team Motley Crew captained by John Kennedy from Saluda, SC, along with Danny Harris also from Saluda, SC.
Eleventh place with a total weight of 8.55 pounds was Team Next Time.
Smallest Creel with a total weight of 4.33 pounds was Team Reel Therapy.
The Palmetto State Armory Fishing Outpost prize went to Team Time 2 Fish.
