Lots of Double Digit Stripers on the Hill.
On August 15, 2020, the Midlands Striper Club broke out of COVID hibernation and held their August tournament on Clark’s Hill / Thurmond Lake Tournament with 16 teams participating in the Tournament. A total of 32 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 253.64 pounds with a 7.93- pound average. All 16 teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 30.35 pounds was Team Motley Crew captained by John Kennedy from Leesville, SC along with Brian “Scooter” White, also from Leesville, SC.
Team Motley Crew also won the Justin Christopher Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store with a 19.80-pound Striper.
Finishing in second place with a total weight of 29.01 pounds was Team Reel Guys captained by Marshall West from Lexington, SC, along with Joby Wetzel from Chapin, SC.
Finishing in third place with a total weight of 22.08 pounds was Team Knot Right captained by Allen Rogers from Saluda, SC, along with Mitch Long from Ward, SC.
Lady Angler Award went to Catherine Roby from Team Challenged.
Youth Angler Award went to RJ Sineath from Team Stone Age.
Finishing in eleventh place with a total weight of 11.94 pounds was Team Hardcore.
Smallest creel went to Team Landlocked with a total weight of 5.38 pounds.
The Palmetto State Armory Fishing Outpost prize went to Team Gonna Fish.
