Congratulations to Capt. Terry and Catch 22, All of the Pittmans, and Team Laidback! Way to go!

From the results, looks like no really big fish caught, but good numbers of solid, 7-10 pound fish… seems the lake is continuing to bounce back from the fish kills. I hope this trend continues.

Congrats to Terry and his team for the win and to Lee for his tournament big fish. I agree with Jon Boy - the fish in the lake seem to have recovered well from the fish kills. More keepers than shorts seems to be the norm now…a far cry from what we saw a few years ago.

On a side note…I know that Brad appreciated the fish donated for his church cookout, so thanks to you guys for that. I don’t know how much time he has to logon here, so I thought I would pass along the sentiment.

I cleaned one of the big fish caught in the tournament yesterday (11 to 12lbs or so) and I decided to conduct an autopsy since that fish’s fat belly looked like it had more than eggs in it. Sure enough, it had a big 13-14" gizzard shad in its stomach. Looks like it ate that bait a few days before because that gizzard shad had seen its better days, but there was no doubt what it was. Those larger fish have no problem at all downing a big bait.

Congrats to all the top finishers! We had a good day but others had a great one:smiley:.

“My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.”

Congrats to the podium finishers indeed! Way to go Catch 22, Pittcrew, and Laidback along with the 19 others that outfished us! We just didn’t have a good day. I can’t figure out why we seem to have out best tournament finishes when it’s tough for everyone else and stink it up when most are smokin’ em. Oh well. Big event next month. Gotta bring the “A” game!

Congratulations to all that “got’em” Saturday. Our fish shrank 3-4 lbs from one weekend to the next. Our biggest fish Saturday was the same size as our smallest fish a week earlier on the same spot. It just goes to show how much they move this time of year. Hopefully we can all get back on them in May!

Congrats as well to the winners and to all those that brought in some very nice fish to the scales. I was excited I made it back out to fish at least one MSC tourney so far this year. My daughters dance season will soon be over and hopefully I can get back to fishing more weekends.

I invited a wonderful rookie friend of mine out Saturday for the tourney, and even though we caught fish “all day” it was a cookie cutter day with 23-24" fish at every stop. About noon we locked onto a 20lb+ Striper that I managed to eventually bring along side the boat, but unfortunately I failed do a good job overseeing my buddy on handling the net. In the excitement I forgot to tell him that one end of the fish or the other needs to go into the net first, or the fish won’t fit… But hey, that’s fishing and we had an absolute wonderful day.

Amen to shrinking fish:smiley: I had been routinely boating 27-29 inch fish in the area of Bear where we chose to start Saturday. When it counted, we couldn’t get anything over 22.":imp: The front apparently changed things up and we couldn’t adjust.

Congrats to all the winners!!!

I hear you Fogman…if Friday wouldve been the tourney I wouldve had big fish.

Started getting really upset at the 15 lb catfish we kept catching and generally overall just upset at the whole day.

Saturday, we couldnt find striper until about 2:00. Didnt come to the weigh-in again because we knew we didnt have a shot at winning and my father-in-law and I just decided to stay out there since we finally found some striper.

Past two tourneys have been my worst two fishing days of the year. Amazing how that happens.

That’s right Sully. I didn’t see y’all at weigh-in, but I had to take Don home and run Rick back to his rental property on BDI to help him hook up a pontoon trailer. Therefore, we didn’t visit long after that last group weighed.
