I made these boards last week. They are 8 inches long, have the offshore releases, berkley speed clips, stainless steel split rings… I need to add my name and phone number to them so that they can be returned if I lose one…

That’s the spirit…lol I did fortunately have the benefit of copying the dimensions and placement of all the components from another planer board that I use and like…just need it to float and track out to the side with a line attached to it…you don’t want them too heavy…need them to be fairly corrosion resistant, high vis color will help you locate them if you have one break off…the offshore releases that i used are about 6 dollars apiece but you can probably come up with something that will work that’s cheaper…I use gorilla glue to glue the flotation to the metal… i find the scrap metal and flotation material for free. I just buy the releases, speed clips and stainless steel split rings, 1/4 inch galvanized threaded rod, and paint… I also use a piece of heat shrink on the end of the threaded rod for more corrosion resistance where i grind it down to drill a hole in it for the split ring…I will bring one to the next meeting if anyone wants a closer look…
