Mt. P pier

Hey everyone. My boat trailer tires are shot and I can’t take the boat out. My brother-in-laws are in town and want to fish. I know that some here have talked about how good the Mt. P pier is, under the bridge. My question is what is the best tide to fish this pier. I know this is the major consideration when on the boat, and was wondering if it made a difference on the pier? Thanks.

Honestly I haven’t had a lot of luck out there, have tried 4 or 5 times, and have also taken the family there for a nice picknick (no fishing) frequently and still don’t see a lot of fish. But occasionally you do see some nice sheepshead and redfish show up.

If you’re looking for just fishing fun, Folly would be a better choice.

In either case, be there when the water is moving. For whiting and such, halfway out is usually good. If you are after reds, fish the weedline and shallows. May pick up a trout there also. At the very end you never quite know what you might catch but it seems to increase the odds of a ray.

Moral judgment under girds the entire structure of laws and is necessary for the rational structure of any significant statute. The idea that our laws can stand independent of moral foundation is senseless.----- Albert Mohler.

I’ve done Folly before many many times before I got the boat, but not in a while. Constant small sharks and Whiting. I want to go somewhere that has a more exciting possibility for us. I do appreciate the heads up. I guess it’s a gamble anywhere weather or not fish will be there. I’m not that familiar with shore fishing in Charleston, as in where we can walk to and fish. I’ve done Breach a few times before as well with no luck there either. I figure I can try a new place and add it to my “skunk” list! LOL!! Just kidding.

From some of the reading I’ve been doing, it seems the rising tide is the best time for the pier, so we are going to give that a shot on Thursday.
