I moved my vacation/fishing home from Charleston to FL two years ago, and am considering coming back. Can anybody tell me how long the boat ride would be from either Rivertowne Country Club or from Dunes West to the ocean? I hear there is very little no wake zone in between, and I can plot out the distance, but I really would love to hear from somebody with real world experience. I would have my own dock.

My guess is over 20 miles. Give or take. Boats eat lots of fuel!!
Long run and can get really annoying if you got a lot of people on the boat!

Rivertowne a little shorter run than Dunes. Pretty much straight down the (crooked) Wando to the harbor and out. From the 41 Bridge about 15 NMs. One no wake by wando river marina.
Simrad has a great app with charts, etc that you can mess around with, see the details.
I leave the Boat Yard Marina and that distance is about right. The maps make it an easy trip but does add to the fuel expense when going off shore.

what size boat are you running. Getting a place with a dock on the Wando in either RT or DW will set you back a few $.
