Mt. Pleasant Hotels for Kayaking?

Hey Everyone

Any suggestions on what hotels in Mt. Pleasant would be good to stay at while kayaking? I’m looking for a hotel with an exterior door so that it’s possible to drag a kayak into it. I’ll be in town this weekend for the Kiawah Blues by the Sea blues concert and figured I’d do a little recon work on checking out hotels before dragging my kayak back for a little Charleston kayak fishing.

Thanks

Check out the KOA in MT P. They Have some pretty basic Cabins with AC. If your looking for the cheap route Thats where I would stay. They also have a pretty cool freshwater lake. Its not far from several nice fishing areas on the Wando. Also its not all rednecked out like other campgrounds ive been to.

SF,
As long as I’m in town, you can store your yak at my place anytime your coming down to Chas. You know I’m near Redfishville :sunglasses: and the fish are starting to get hungry again!
Just let me know.

Hey TB2

Thanks for the offer. I did find some cheap hotels on Johnnie Dodds Blvd that could work for me, they were large enough that I could stash a kayak in the room.

If anyone needs a pretty nice hotel at a good rate check out the Town and Country Inn in West Ashley, it’s a nice hotel (flat screen TV’s in the rooms) with a great pool area.

Hey SC_Flyguy

Yeah…I knew about the KOA, I did check it out during my trip, the problem there is getting a reservation plus after a hard day of busting reds the last thing I want to come home to is a communal bathroom .

Thanks again

Kayak Redfishers: Would some of you mind posting a pic of your fishing kayaks? I have 2 sea kayaks and have tried fishing out of them but the cockpits are tiny and they are very tippy when casting. Would love to get one that is more fishable but need some better info. to start with. Thanks in advance for any pics or help!
