Water Quality Concerns – August 2, 2017August 2, 2017- Following our release
on Friday, we received requests for more detailed information relative to the
test results presented by a resident of Dunes West and Mount Pleasant
Waterworks (MPW) and to better clarify MPW’s use of the term “invalid” in
reference to GenX results reported by GEL Laboratories, LLC (GEL). We also met
with GEL to discuss the data.

As previously mentioned, a resident in Dunes
West (through social media) along with the local news media reported that GEL’s
test results indicated detection of GenX. The GenX result reported by GEL was
noted on their report as an estimated value, meaning that the data is below a
value in which the instrument can precisely measure. Although reporting
this value is standard practice for GEL, it is not a typical practice for MPW
and most water utilities and therefore led to our use of the term “invalid” in
the previous press release.

GEL properly fulfilled the request of their
client and provided a very detailed and accurate analysis consistent with their
protocols. In future reports to homeowners, GEL intends to highlight detected
compound concentrations in bold font to help further clarify the data.

As it relates to MPW’s test results, GenX was
reported as a non-detect, other PFCs were detected in minuscule concentra

And I thought it was the Mexican food I had for lunch.

I have heard enough. I will be making some healthy changes and mixing a little bourbon with my water in order to make it safe to drink.

Fish pee in the water. Think about that.
