I hear the shrimp are thick in muddy bay. Never been there before but plan on doing some deep holing up in that area once the baiting season ends.

So where is “muddy bay”…??

A good ways above north Bulls bay.

Between Cape Romain Lighthouse and McVille.

i could be wrong but i think he is talking about muddy bay in georgetown and not the one near cowpens.

sounds like GT shrimp…

Thats what I was thinking…

Muddy Bay is Georgetown, SC. Cowpens has been the hot spot this year. large to extra large shrimp. Best tide has been high to low tide, it really slows down when low tide comes around.

i was in muddy bay a week ago and the shrimp were there by the thousands.bad thing is it would take every one to fill a cooler. i would throw my 6ft net to hear the water boiling in the net and see shrimp scrambling everywhere.maybe this months full moon will be dynamite there?

The few we have caught n Cowpen have been mixed with mostly small…lots of mostly small

I shrimp the midde of St Helena Sound near the combee banks where the shrimp are normally large but my only trip this season yielded a cooler with lots of mediums and smalls which is unusual for this area. This was a couple of weeks ago from dusk until about 9:30 PM on the rising tide. I may try again this weekend in the daytime when the shrimp may not be as plentiful but hopefully larger. I believe the small shrimp problem is due to a large number of shrimp this year and expect the best results later in the season. Heading smaller shrimp makes me not want go for a while.
