First stop yesterday we drifted a flat and saw a nice school on the dropoff at the other end of the flat. Got within casting distance and whamo…next two casts the corks went down at the same time. Then a herd (bigger then a school) of 15 to 20 inch mullet came roaring towards us…from a distance it looked like redfish, but they were jumping. Couple acres of mullet came right across the flat and went back into the sound…no more redfish there.
Searched and searched, then finally drifted over 5 or 6 20+ pound redfish sitting in 18 inches of water…spooked them, but did pick up some rats that I guess were hanging out with the old guys.
The boiled egg sandwich and Pepsi topped off the day…
