How long does the mullet run usually last? Fished it last weekend and was hoping to get more time on the water this weekend for it.

Now through November. Depending on temps November can peter off mid month. Some family caught many out of the Coosaw free casting off the dock.
Well we have mullet all year but the thicks schools will get smaller and less common as it gets toward the end of october. Id say most of the true mullet run will be over before 2nd week october. Its peaked early this year. I think Florence caused it. Its the best mullwt run ive seen in sc. Mullet the full length of beaches. The only problem is there is no more fish then usual just bait. I havent found hot action yet and ive fished 3 times so far. I caught a bunch of blacktips, and the blacknose, bonnets and finetooth seem to be a little thicker then usual, oddly not catching a lot of sandbars. I did possibly hook a tarpon the other night but all i saw was light color in the dark when it jumped. Id fish the inlets toward the beach front or the beach front.
Yeah seen mostly blues and sharks. We have seen a good amount of Spanish up the N. Edisto near Bohicket creek.

Paul I didn’t fish inshore this past weekend so never stopped and looked. I’m sure some of the inshore guys can give you some better info. Good luck.

Looks to me like the run f the smaller white mullet is about done. The big horse mullet (striped mullet) is just getting started. They run right through Christmas some years.
