Multiple day limits...did we ever get an answer?

Just curious,have seen this asked and never remember if it got answered…

i maybe doing a multiple day trip and just curious since the limits are so low on some species it will be easy to do.

Not sure if this helps not sure on the what I missed, but I do know that their is a possession limit on most species for a trip or weekend of fishing or a trip down to Florida for instance. Its usually works out to a double limit. Not sure if this has been covered but wanted to give you something to start with.

I am pretty sure recreational anglers can only land one daily possession limit per person regardless of the length of the trip,unless there is a boat limit. e.g. dolphin, flounder. All fish must be landed head and tail attached.

I think want Inam trying to say is the if your in a trip down in Florida and you reside in South Carolina . If you fish three day and catch a limit each day legally of five fish that is okay but if the possession limit is 10 at a time you can and will receive a ticket if pulled or checked regardless if you only caught a legal limit of 5 in three days no if ands or buts.

Well since you came to shore each day while fishing in florida with the legal possession limit I would assume the fish have been cleaned and iced down. Unless you are transporting them home to SC by boat I don’t think you have a problem. In my opinion no one is going to bust you for a few fillets on ice or frozen in the back of your car or trailered boat on the highway.

Your probably right but their is an ASS that covers the Bulls Bay are that would have a field day with him. That son of a gun run me off the water shrimping one day and followed me back and watched me pull my boat out of the water. I had my son with me he wasn 14 years old driving my boat while I threw the net and he sails I was breaking the law and he had to be 16 .I knew he was wrong if mymson was 12 driving me I was legal because I was over 21 by times 2 . I had a field day when I called the headquarters, f

To legally operate a boat under 16 your son needs a boaters license, which can be obtained by sitting through an 8 hour Saturday USCG instructed course. Trust me, I just got mine last year!

I recently saw a thread on this somewhere, possession limits are for 1 trip. If you are out at sea for 3 days you can only bring back 1 days possession. If you were fishing multiple trips in FL during your stay, and coming back to SC, I would still either abide by a daily possession limit or have everything filleted and ice. If you had whole carcasses it would not be any different from being out at sea multiple days. It is impossible for the officer to tell that you caught 3 fish monday, 3 fish tuesday and 6 fish friday. If the max is 3, and you have 12 on you even after numerous trips I would assume you are getting a ticket.

Yakman no dis respect but you are incorrect you need the course if operating a boat unsupervised with a horsepower above 15. Trust me I know. He was scheduled to take the class 30 days after that already
FYI I would not trust anybody but if the person in the boat with someone under aged only has to be eighteen. Doesn’t make since but it’s the law

If you are planning a overnite trip and want to bring back 10 vermilion and10 black fishper person you have to have 2 liscened captains and show a log book . This is what dnr told me when I called with this same question.
