mur inlet sep 21

took my girlfriends family out today ,went to mi, put in at around 10ish, rising tide. had a hard time gettin bait, caught about 150 manhaden, one cast. headed for the jetties, caught a few crocker, couple pin fish,2 under reds, decided to head in and fish the inlet a little, caught 2 flounder, tide started fallin, headed back to the jetties, caught about 25 ribbon fish, got bit by one, caught 1 underslot red, 2 big blues… a little rough on the end of the rocks but nice day on the water, plenty of bait at low tide, tons of manhaden… anyways they had fun and were happy.</font id=“Arial Black”></font id=“size3”></font id=“blue”>

The ribbons :frowning_face:have been awful…

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I think I’m going fishing…!!

yes sir, they have been. heading back in the morning. hopefully the ribbons will stay away from my boat.

I have never seen them so thick…Anyone else see a correlation between the huge volume of ribbon fish this season and the lack of near shore kings?

Wonder why they’re so thick up your way. NI has a bunch of Ladyfish, but I haven’t caught any Ribbonfish.

We ended up not going this morning, I have Hurd they are full of ribbons in cherry grove, my dad caught one up in mud bay last weekend.

Flounder were biting this afternoon first of the falling, moon was coming up too. Got a couple real quick, then it slowed down. One was a solid 23" (woot).

Awesome! It will get better when the oxygen level gets higher offshore

23" flounder is a good one, how much did it weigh?

Did not weigh it. Had one not quite as big a few weeks back and did weigh that at 4 1/2#. I’d guess 5. Eating some of that sucker right now too, tasty :stuck_out_tongue:

Heck yea! I love some flounder!

anyone came up with a logical explanation for all the ribbon fish??? i ask because i have been fishing for along time and have never ever seen so many caught… i caught one trolling for trout last weekend in little river. wth??? have never caught one up there.

They’re the reason I haven’t been fishing for the trout in MI. Millions of Ribbons + Mirrolures = no fun. Bastids.

yep! no kidden
