Phishinphan and I went out of Koon around 4:00 with the 20 mph wind blowing right into the landing. White caps breaking over the dock. Forecast was calling for dropping wind around dusk so we went for it. The “new” wellcraft ran great. She skipped right over the waves keeping us dry. We went right into the wind to Crystal Lake. Found a creek out of the wind and had one hit. Went and fished near Siesta Cove and had no hits. Quit around 11:00 with one hit. It was a cold night with that wind. Glad I still had some Yankee gear to keep me warm. I’m just glad the boat ran good.

We read some good concentrations of fish and bait, but they didn’t look like they were moving at all. They definitely were not biting. I keep saying I’m not going to fish right after cold fronts pass but keep doing it anyway. I guess I just have to go when I can. Better than watching the game cocks stink up another bowl game.

I was over the dam at about dusk and was wondering if anyone was foolish enough to be out there fishing in that…

good to see you got the kinks worked out on the boat

Like a gamecock fan I keep thinking it is going to get better and it doesn’t.

but you have to STILL KEEP thinking or you just need to go root for cowtown usa. since deer season is finally gone i figure after this cold weather warms up a little i swear i am going to blow the dust off my reels. doesn’t really sound like anybody has really caught alot on murry this winter. i will try probably twice and if no luck at all i am going to find something else to do till spring.

I’m with you Murraymaker. I’ve just been waiting for the wind to lay down a bit. It’s not so much the cold as it is the wind. Even a chilly day on the boat getting skunked is better than sitting around the house.
