Started at 8:00 am. Fished live herring in big water to the east of Wessinger island. First hookup at 8:10am. (22 inch). Few more bites and even a little topwater action but everything shutdown by 11:00 am. Water temp was 72. Marked fish from the top to 50 feet with most of the fish in the 30-40 foot zone. I probably could have had more hookups If I had livelier bait. The herring did fine in the livewell but I couldn’t seem to keep them alive more than 10 minutes on the hook.
I trolled a few hours Sat night with only a 22" keeper also (2 shorts). Trolled from the dam to Spence. Hoping to get out Sunday evening and give it a try up around Bomb/Shull Island area.

I pulled herring from jake’s landing to the towers with two keepers. Both were 22". Jakes landing to the towers and back is a long trip in a 20’ boat powered by a 55lb thrust trolling motor. Left jakes at 7:30 and didn’t get back until 5
(**()…That’s a long time to run a boat that size with a trolling motor…How many batteries did you have?
