Went striper fishing today for first time in a long time. Just decided to use umbrella rigs and not mess with the live bait. Fished around Billy Dreher mostly. Caught 2 keepers and threw back 3 or 4 more around 19 to 20 inches. On the water from about 2 untill sunset. Most fish caught within first hour when sun was highest. The water looked muddy, maybe the dirrect sun was catching the spinners on the umbrellas just right. All fish caught in 30 feet or less. Overall, great just to be out there and had alot of fun.

I went out last night to try some night fishing. Only caught one keeper. Fished herring on freelines and downrods around Dreher and shull islands. Marked a lot of fish in the main channel late. Fish were in 90’ to 100’ holding from surface down to 45’. Even though it was slow, it was nice being out at night and having the lake to ourselves.
