Took dad-in-law for morning trip. Weather man was a little off. Got there, it was cold and threatening to rain. Got baits in the water just long enough to get one good run and the bottom fell out. Ran to the hill to wait the storm out. Once it passed, the sun came out and wind changed directions. Took out at 1pm. Caught one fat 22" fish. Missed a few others. Marked fish but it was slow. Fished with live and cut herring in 40’ to 90’ of water from Dreher Island to Spences Islands. Saw a few short ones taken. Wind changed direction 3 times.
Had a similar day! Got bait early at Better Bait, beat the big line! Got to Jakes at 5:30, took a friend and his 12 yr old son, looked ok, got out and found some fish near Wessinger, got the lines in, wind picked up and started to drift anchor, broke loose, all of a sudden, kid’s line start’s to rip! He pulls in a 20.9" fish! Then the weather did us in. We got soaked, I got skunked, but the kid was grinnin! We shut down and headed in before 8am. Oh well, more summer fun ahead!

I’m glad to hear some fish are out there. I just had to replace the stearing cable. I’m planning to take some time off soon. Keep the reports coming…Thanks, T
