Fished the morning before the rain with cut and freelined herring. Caught 6 (biggest 35") and a channel cat. Missed a lot of short strikes. Hit freeline and cut bait equally. 25-40’ of water.

Yep. It was a day maker. Very nice fish. After catching a bunch of shorts this year, catching a nice fish is even better. Still hadn’t go into the hard bite yet. Everytime we go, the fish are scattered. Hopefully, they’ll bunch up as the temp rises.
