On the water at first light to avoid the heat at same location we’ve been lately. Fish still there but I guess we caught all the dumb ones by 7 o’clock because it sure dried up after that. Wound up catching 9. Four were short and the biggest 6 1/2. Big bummer of the day was having my GPS go out. Maybe I’ll be lucky and it’s just sunspots.
Same here. For me, it has been really tough as soon as that sun gets up.
What’s going on with your GPS? I’m having problems with mine too, but this has been going on for a while. It will usually lock in when I first turn it on and then ater a while start toggling between “Postion Lost” ----> “Position Aquired” —> “Position Lost”…
I have an internal antenna, so there’s not much I can do short of sending it in…just hoping to at least get through the summer with it before sending to get checked out.
Do you ever lock in at all?

We have a Humminbird 587ci with Internal GPS. Getting a message that says “No GPS Receiver Connected”. Have seen the message before along with “Lost Position Fix” (which sounds similar to your circumstances) but restarting it several times today didn’t resolve the problem. Will see what it does the next time we go out.
Sent it off to Humminbird a year ago for the same problem (a month after the warranty expired) and they couldn’t find anything wrong and it’s been working pretty good since with just occasional interruptions. If it’s really broke, they can fix it.
I do think that there are some “dead spots” out on the lake where one can lose their position fix for a period of time.
