Got on the water just b4 dark.Marked a lot of fish out from the towers. The bite was slow but the two of us did manage to limit out around 1am. We had one good fish and the rest were shorts. Most fish were caught drifting slow over humps. I personally have not had much luck when the moon is full or near full.
You could have done worst. I’ve got the same “moon” feeling. We went out early Friday morning checking humps I have marked from LHM out to and beyond Frey Key. For as many fish as we saw, might as well have been searching for the Loch Ness monster. Did confirm that the cut bait technique of clipped tails and slit sides works well. A 5 pounder off a hump in the Pine Island vicinity was catch of the day.
