Been doing pretty good up in both rivers and down as low as spinners. New years eve we caught five keepers and probably 10 to 15 shorts. Water was 54*-55*. I went out Saturday night and the water up in the Big Saluda had dropped down to 46*. Checked a bunch of spots from Blacks bridge down. Never found anything on the FF worth fishing until down by spinners. Even that was just a few tight patches of fish off of the points. Only caught 2 shorts. Last year I didn’t catch much of anything after the water went into the 40’s. I’m thinking just giving up on striper and chasing cats till the water warms back some.
I haven’t been out in a couple of weeks but last trip out we did farly well just above the elbow. Talked with several people at the MSC Banquet this past Saturday evening and all said they had one of their best days ever above Black’s Bridge.
