Anyone going to be out there around the gap? Leaving out before 7am from the back of Hollow Creek. Plan is to pull livies on planers around the gap and over the points.
On your straight back free lines are you guys finding much more success on corks or just free lined (trolling) or don’t see a real benefit to either. Plan for tomorrow was to pull 2 on planers and 2 free lined straight back no cork…
Best success last week was on freelines (planners & corks) with split shot added to the line right above the swivel. 30 pulls behind the planner.
30 pulls as in 60 or 90’? I plan to hit some of the humps in and around the gap and don’t want bottom or were you catching all yours in the deep water 80-100’?
I will be pulling boards (3 on each side) and free lining (no corks) in the gap at some point in the morning. Blue skiff. Come say hello and we hopefully can share success stories.
I’ll be in an old 15’ aluminum Jon Boat doing my thing…Good Lord the boat shows can’t come fast enough so I can get in the comforts of a center console. At almost 270lbs the Jon Boat isn’t the most stable thing under my feet.
3 shorts, 1 miss and a nice largemouth so far
Finished with many knock downs but didn’t get a good hook up, 5 striper to the boat and 2 largemouth (2.0 & 2.5lb). Took a best friend out and let him have the rod duties. First time fishing on Murray and he had a blast.
Sure like that cap! Fished up the lake thursday with a lot of shorts but a limit of good keepers all on boards and freelines in shallow!
