Went out with coolbreeze after work and the fish were nowhere to be found in the lower lake. Searched for about an hour from spence to the dam. After the long search we found some fish up at goat island, but they were small. Headed to the towers at dark and dropped the light hoping to bring the fish to us. Had bait in the light and some fish, but not like it was the last few trips. Started raining about 10 and we left around 11 with 5 shorts.
Same report here for Friday night. Did find a bunch stacked up around the spillway but no takers didn’t have any bait was trolling stretches and a bama rig on a planer. Ended with 2 shorts on the west side of Spence. Got rained on around 930 and got off the water. Don’t know where they all went…just another day I guess
Went out last evening to try some cut bait. Didn’t make it to Richard’s in time and I didn’t know that Better Bait had shut down, so we gave it a shot with some mushy bait left over from Saturday. Marked some fish on a hump in about 30-35 ft, but only got one small fish. Gonna get out and try that area with some fresh bait one eve this week.
Fished Sat with some friends in our annual tounament/BBQ. Think we had 11 boats and it was pretty slow for most of us, weighing in 1-3 fish, but there was one boat that had 7 keepers. Most everyone was pulling freelines and some on downrods.
