Does anybody have any good/bad experiences with leaving vehicles at boat ramps overnight? I am looking to do some island camping and will be leaving my truck over night at a landing, just don’t know which one yet. Somewhere around midlake on the Lex side, but I can drive around to Chapin side if need be, any suggestions appreciated.
Depending on when you plan on going, I would say Siesta Cove is your best bet. LCSD patrol the public ramps like Jake’s and the (**() only intermittently and even less in off peak seasons. Siesta Cove remains fairly populated due to it being somewhat residential and the store owners do a good job at keeping their eye out for your stuff. From a security standpoint, it is a far better option than a desolate unattended landing. Just my thoughts. Hope this helps

I have left my vehicles at Dreher Island State Park alot with no problems the sheriff dept patrols it pretty regular. I guess you take a chance anywhere but I think that would be the safest place if It is not to far out of your way.

I regularly leave my truck at Koon, the dam, and #4 until 2-3 AM. Not overnight, but still late. I’ve seen people leaving Koon for overnight trips a few times.

Thanks for the advice, Koon or Siesta would be ideal due to it being a fairly short ride to the islands closeby.
I have left my truck at the ramps all night so many times during the spring and summer when we bow fish and never had any problems we put in at Larry koon, siesta cove and the dam. At siesta the ramp guy usually comes out of his camper everytime someone pulls up late at night so u shouldn’t have any problems there.
