I was just casting off the parking lot on the Irmo side of the dam. You’ll always see plenty of people over there striper fishing from the bank in the evenings this time of year. Mine were all short, but in the past I have caught plenty of keepers there too.
You can also catch them near the spillway from the beach area enterance on the Lex side too, but they don’t open till about 9 or 10 in the am and close at 8PM.
Dinnertime, good luck! I’ll check back this evening to see if you were able to post. Putting the boat in for the first time this year this evening. Really just looking to run the boat a while after sitting up, but definately will have a couple of rods with artificials on board.

Fished today 7-11 am, no bait to be had, so fished artificials. Casting the banks and trolling. Beautiful morning. saw a couple of big schools and some bids working, but not a bite. Feel like I’m doing something wrong, I’m hearing of plenty of fish being caught. Going again tomorrow. Keep the reports coming.

Great last night, good this AM, and dead tonite. Go figure.
I covered a lot of water last evening just riding around and never saw any fish schooling or birds working.
Hoping to give it a try Sunday am with some bait.

Was out at the Dam from 630 to 830 this evening!No luck but I did see a small keeper, a couple of shorts and a good 6 pound bass caught on live bluebacks!

Tried again Friday dawn until 2, a few shorts and big gar. No big schools of bait or many fish on sonar. Tried it all, trolling, live bait, casting, and cut bait. Finding the schools if proving to be tough, are they up river?
