Too nice of a day not to put the boat in. Got on the water after lunch and rode around looking for bait. Not much to be found on the FF. Birds were resting on the water and not feeding. Trolled artificials and didn’t do anything. Did have one hit but that was it.
Problem was you got on after lunch. I’ve always had best luck 1 hr before sun dow til 1 hr after dark or between 30 min prior to sun up til about 10 or 11…Atleast u got out.
Best part about this time of year is you can see all the bait on top early or late afternoon when the lake is slick.

Roger that. Unless it’s cloudy all day, I do better early or late. Had to hit it when I could. Hope to get back soon and get some brush piles out and get some fishing in. Almost out of firewood so I’ve got to cut some this Saturday. Good luck!
