Came back for the weekend to empty out my house. Todd (Triton220) helped me out so I took him out fishing Saturday. He was rewarded with the biggest striper ever put on my boat. Fishing was pretty slow overall, more beers than fish for sure. We got two keepers and some shorts but it was a beautiful day on the lake. It was a nice break from the PA winter. I know the calendar says spring, but I’m looking out the window at snow on the ground. The big fish was 40" and fat as could be. I don’t have a scale so I cant tell you the weight. I’d guess 25 to 30 lbs, Todd will tell you 40#. Took a video of the fight but put it down when I saw how big it was. Not sure if this video will work, but I’ll try. Wish I would have got a better picture but we wanted to get it back in as fast as possible.
Crazy that after living down here all those years and fishing as much as you did that you get your biggest lake fish ever on a 2 day visit after moving.
Thanks for the report. Very nice fish.
Like you thought, the video didn’t quite work (at least for me) but I could hear the drag being pulled. Just hearing that gets me excited!
Thanks Cap’n Tom. Like you said, a beautiful day! Biggest one i’ve ever caught on Murray - and with my partner! Enjoy the snow! Should not have said that…
NOW is the time to go for a big one on murray. 10 over 20# were caught in the last 10 days that i know about. All but 2 have been released.
There was another caught by a tx fisherman on sat. But he released it because he didnt want to kill 2 in 1 day. Thats what he said anyway. No reason for him to lie about it.
