Fished Murray Saturday evening with the Coolbreeze. We started fishing around 6:30 and found fish up around goat island. Lots of fish on the finder but after two hours there we only caught two shorts. I think all the boat traffic had them shut down. Lake was full of pleasure boaters. Had to get a kick out of the idiots cutting around in circles at the no wake zone with waverunners jumping his wake. Ended up at the towers after dark for three more short fish. I may have to make the switch to morning fishing or week night fishing.
There is no way I would fight the boat traffic on a weekend. What madness!! Some Saterday mornings arent too bad till about 9:00am, they its off for me. My little 15’ bass tracker takes a pounding. Weekday evenings are good. Real peacefull too, watching the sun set.
the most of the boats were gone by 8pm. we marked a bunch of fish but as steelytom said; only a couple of shorties. fished until after 2am. one thing we did catch was a pretty decent beer buzz. tom is fun to fish with. has been a while but we will not wait so long next time. (gosh; i believe i’m starting to tear up.) LOL LOL. it really was a blast so maybe we catch fish next trip.
Hell, I have a 25 foot cc and it beats the chiite outa me and the wife! Actually had to stop yesterday at the gap as a ^%#%$@ jet ski was heading straight for a head-on…I had stopped in the water, standing to the side with my arms out going like WTF!!! He finally turns about 10 feet in front of me??? Just about had enough of the weekend crowd - and never even carry a pole to try and fish unless it’s after dark (and a few good thunderstorms coming in!)

I think you would have won that game of chicken. The weekend traffic is getting bad, but most are gone by sunset. I may try up lake next weekend and see if its better up there.
fished sat morning and was a nice day to be on the water but wind was picking up and dying off all day. i will never try to come off the water on a saturday at noon. no lie from the time we entered the no wake bouys to the time we were pulling out of the park was about an hour. 4 shorts at towers in morning then couldn’t find a piece of water that didn’t have a million herring swimming in it. hopefully the herring spawn will end soon. i think the stripes are just filling up on them or it could be the fact that you are dropping a bait down and hopeing to win the lottery when that fish picks yours out of the whole bait ball. ended up doing the catfish thing and ended up with 4 cats (very nice 2-5 pounds)and 6 more shorts. all fish came on bottom with live herring. i have never fished that way before but was pretty cool having a slack line and still getting to hear that clicker scream. talked to a guy who had 2 keepers throwing looked to be a zara spook against the rocks. would have tried it but only took the downrod gear. hopeing to go saturday, guess we will see.

Not too much better up to crystal lake - didn’t go any further than that!
