Took the day off to go out with with my grandson and a couple of his school/football buddies and we had a ball. No fish of any size, but lots of action to keep them going.
Got on the water about 6:30 and thought we lucked out, but it wasn’t long before the rain and wind moved in. We stuck it out though and it paid off. Started off fishin in 65’ off the bottom and then, later in the morning, moved over near the towers.
Caught them with live bait at the towers until we ran out of bait (baits not living long at 60’) and then caught some cutting up some of our dead bait we had saved. I know people do it, but fishing suspended cut bait like that was a first for me.
We called it quits with 18 about noon and they headed on home to clean their fish before practice.
Well done - bet we have a few more up and coming fisherman.
Nice to see a big number of fish, just hope the new Reg’s produce larger fish next year.
Trying my luck Wed. AM.
Nice catch striperskiff! Your grandson and his friends had a good fishing story to tell their friends when school started. I know they enjoyed the fishing trip!
