The bite was good in the coves near Jakes as the sun came up. Marked fish and bait in 40’-60’ of water. Had some good hits casting blind on topwater, and got the 24" keeper on top. Drifted live bait, and had a lot of hits, but fishing solo I couldn’t get to them in time and they either pulled loose or never got hooked. Only lasted about 1.5 hours and headed in before the heat hit. If anyone is still out there, I hope you stay hydrated. Gonna be a scorcher.
