Got out at about 6:00 and never had a hit until 8:30. Ended up with three nice fish, 25", 27", and 28". Caught the two bigger ones on freelines (1/8 oz wt). It was a nice night, had the lake to myself. I think I am going to fish all the gamecock games. Kept the 25 & 28 but threw back the 27". I’ll post a pic later.
Awesome job!! I hope to get some like that soon! Last year we caught plenty > 28". We’ll see if we can get on some nice ones like that again soon…

I was out there too. We caught a bunch, but weren’t keeping any fish, so I didn’t measure them. But I’d doubt we had a single fish over 22".

Oddly, those were the only three fish I caught. I guess i just stumbled across a school of nice ones. There were a lot of fish that size on my FF.

Those dinks show up as thin lines and these were thick archs. I can’t say there size, but I know they were a lot bigger than what I have been seeing. I also saw one bust the surface that was in the 30# range. Sharkey, you sure are a smarta$$, are you sure you don’t have NY roots? I thought I saw you with a yankees hat on the other day

i hope so.the catfish are starting a bit early.i went over big man’s yesterday evening and the shad were everywhere.i stopped for afew minutes to watch and saw nothing breaking on them.thought that was kind of odd.

I started saturday night up on the trees around spence. Bait fish were in schools all over the top. I saw a few fish busting on them but not anything I would call schooling. Not many fish on the FF either. I fished about an hour without a hit and left.
Phishinphan has a pass for saturday so we may head back out on saturday evening
heard the crappie were starting to bite also. heading out thurs to see if it is true. may have a pass for sat morning also, wish me luck…lol…
