my friend and i caught these today.started fishing at daybreak and was off the water at 12.30.
Nice fish again. You’re going to have to buy another freezer for all the fish you been catching.
y’all ain’t burnin’ much gas, are ya?
flatlander no we didn’t burn much gas that day.we decided to fish there.lately we have been going down the river towards ramp 3.te fish don’t stay in the freezer long they are cooked regularly on the weekends after a day of rabbit hunting for everyone that was hunting.
Darn you fishing my spot!!
redstripe what kind of boat you running?i’m guessing that we have crossed paths at one point or another.we all need to get together one saturday and have afriendly little tournament and cook what was caught that day.anybody up for it?
sharky; why did you put those fish on my fence and take pictures of them and then take them away with you. don’t you know that is trespassing?
■■■■ nice fish. thanks for the invite. you got to call me and let’s get together. i am all for stripers or crappie.
gotta go; got 20lbs of country ribs slow cooking on the grill for the super bowl later.
I’d love that. I have a 23’ aqua-blue Actioncraft Bay boat. I’ve only fished Murray once this year, and I had good luck where you are in the photo with the fish. The bridge is a dead giveaway.(not that it’s a secret spot.) After this week I’ll be free to do some fishing. My son’s b-ball is winding down.
Hey guys…new to this forum and I have to say…been reading the post for awhile now and a lot of great info.
Sharky,
Looks like you’re the man for Murray info. We’re going to probably be heading up from Florence next Saturday morning, planning on fishing Sat. and Sun. Was looking at the Dreher Island area for a launch point. Any ideas on where to try up in that area? We usually fish Santee and Wateree, so not familar with Murray at all. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Congrats on the catches of fish.
guys i thank everyone for the compaments but i rarely fish alone.i have a good friend that deserves just as much credit as i do.scwolf69 thr fish are holding around dreher and buffalo creek as i said before everything is beig caught on freelines and planerboards.go and get a good map of murray and mark the landding then to the places that i have listed.watch your fishfinder you will locate them rather quickly.hollow creek is also a nother good location.hope this helps.
thanks Sharky
We’ll be down there saturday trying to locate them. If you see a crest pontoon with “feathernwolf” on the side give me a yell.
I’ve got a hotspots map I’m looking at now. Marking the different locations you’ve talked about. As for the friend you fish with, Congrats to him also. Obviously the two of you fish Murray enough to stay on the fish.
watch for dropoffs starting at 15ft then dropping off to about 30ft.
Sharky, do you know of any decent hotels in the area of dreher island or anywhere on that part of the lake? I was thinking of camping overnight saturday, but think I would rather opt for a warm bed and hot shower then head back out sunday morning.
i sure don’t sorry man.check listings for chapin or balentine.
thanks man, looking now trying to find a place. Regardless I will be there saturday and sunday.
dreher island has some cabins they rent. Otherwise I think you will have to stay in Irmo/Harbison area. Here is a link to dreher Island State park

Nothing in Ballentine or Chapin. Harbison Blvd. is best bet.
