Got to the boat ramp about 6:45 to find a perfect looking morning with light winds and a light fog on the water that stayed around until we stopped fishing at about 10. To top it off Richard was at the ramp with some beautiful looking nice size herring and we were pumped leaving the ramp.
Started off pulling FL’s pretty shallow around points in Ballentine and and picked up fish right away, but couldn’t find any keepers. A friend called who was picking up some fish on FL’s also, but in 65’ of water, so we headed over there. Picked up a couple right away, but still no keepers. I believe he did get a couple of keepers.
Tried some cut bait for about 30 min before heading in without a bite.
So it was a pretty slow morning, but sure felt good to get back on the water.
