Fish were biting good. Put in at 7:15 and got 4 keepers in a couple of hours to 26". Didn’t even bring the downriggers. All caught trolling shallow. Didn’t see any schooling, but after dark, when I stopped the boat to reel in fish I would occasionally hear a fish now and then crashing on top.
they were on fire tues day evening for us too. got off from work early so me and buddy put in at 830pm first stretch in at 845 first fish on 847…lol…not kidding. just constant action for us. fished the same run of water for 2 hrs. came off water at 1045 with these eight keepers ( probably caught 25+fish). could have finished out the limit but wife was calling and that should be enought for an alabama game fish fry… i refuse to eat chicken on saturdays starting in sept. lol this was my first day trolling stretch’s, beaufortjay and i tried this morning but had more hits on bucktails then stretch’s. but only managed three fish.
I did good as well, probably my best night yet on the lake. Action was hot for me the second I put the first rod out. Only ran 3 rods all night and had to go down to just 2 rods so I could attempt to eat dinner. 3-4 Keepers, biggest around 24" and who knows how many shorts. Fished slow trolling downrods and freelines. All fished released.
All we caught last night were busting. 4-5 keepers and a 12lber. 18-20 fish in an hour all on pencil poppers. Was a fun evening with my two lil brothers. Here is the only one we took a pic of, as it was too hectic while fish were up. Kinda dark, but best they could do.
yea same spot. and as far as that goes after reading tims post and knowing that was him heading to the ramp i saw as well as texasangler, since they were there at the same time and seeing where each boat was before hand; then looking at ch allen picture background ( i only know of two blue roofs on the lake), guess what. we all fished exactly the same area it looks like. lol. was definetly a great night to be on the water very calming.
as far as the weights go i got them from santa in my stocking last year. but since then i saw that santa shops at sportsman’s warehouse in the clearence fishing section… here’s a pic of the box they will be in.
whereabouts are the fish being caught now? still around jakes/towers? Pulling freelines or bucktails, rapalas, stretchs? gotta get back into some striper fishing…they seem to be really biting this year
