The lake appears to have come up a few inches. Anyone know if SCE&G is letting it up intentionally, or is this just from the recent rain?
I believe it is the recent rain.
They are also have dropped the out flow down about a 1000cfs to around 2100ish cfs.

Murray is now a little over 351. Anyone heard, is this from the recent rain or will it drop again during the week?
The birds are currently working overtime in the elbow area, so are the bird chasers. I wish they would learn how to move in quietly and not spook the stripers. They must be content to only catch one or two at a time! Watched one poor guy, quietly catching them, almost get swamped by two boatloads of bird chasers. I’m glad I’m not out there right now. I don’t have the patience to deal with the aggravation of bird chasers that mess up a good fishing situation. My wife says they don’t know good fishing ettiquite. Merry Christmas to all of the courteous fishermen and ladies.
Got out around 2:00 yesterday and quit around 3:30. Only one short striper. The perch and catfish were biting pretty good. Had 19 perch and 5 nice cats. The cats averaged right at 7 lbs. apiece and were eating the Berry spoons like I’ve never seen before. Biggest cat was just over 10 lbs. Had between 40 and 50 lbs. of fish and a lot of fun. The gulls had quit diving in my little area so I had the whole spot to myself without all of those bird chasers to mess up the fishing. After test running the motor, which ran great, I only cranked the motor twice. Once going to the spot and again coming back to the bank. All fish hit the white and silver Berrys. Best guess as to depth was between 37’ and 40’. I didn’t put the depthfinder on the boat yesterday, just got lucky and happened to stop right over them. Had my first perch in 4 jerks.
I was in the elbow today and it was mudy. I was fishing for catfish and they had there mouth shut. The birds was chaseing the boats getting the bait fish as they ran through them. The heavy rain upstate is raising the lake to a foot higher than Saturday.
