Murray Wednesday

Did better than I thought we would when I saw that water temps had dropped almost 5 degrees to 48.4 from Friday. Went to the same shallow hump going into Ballentine Creek where we caught two 23 inchers Friday. Pulled planer boards and a big slip float around the area and caught five and missed five other strikes. Wound up with one short, two 22 inchers, one 23 inch and one 25 inch. Not a bad day even though it felt a little cooler and was a little windier than I expected.

Nice! That’s some good info. You probably got some people that are tournament fishing Saturday thinking twice about heading way up the river.

Fished up the lake today, George didnt have any bait and I was forced to throw bucktais and Alabama rigs and compete with the boys from N.C.
Dont young people work anymore
After wearin out my sholder and catching small fish and a few keepers I stated reading and spooning. Read lots of fish around the AMACO sign but could not get them to bite! Wish I had some good live bait.
Guess I will be headed back to the Hill This week!

Did you mean the ESSO sign? If not, where is the Amoco sign?

Rick

Rick, the Amoco sign is in front of Hancock Creek to the Plantation Point side out toward the river channel. The sign is not there anymore. Remnants of the posts are all that remain.

Thanks Fog. You will have to show me!

Boatpoor, Be sure and try a variety of colors when fishing the spoons. The preference varies with depth, temp, the amount of ripple from wind and the water color. Bigger is usually better in very windy or muddy conditions.
