Murrells Inlet 12/31 Report

Fished the incoming tide from 12 - 4 PM on Tuesday. We put in at Oyster Recycle landing. The first 2 hours, we did not get a single bite, then all of a sudden, BOOM! We were catching trout every single cast. Between the two of us, we ended up catching well over 40 trout, all in the 10-16 in range. Even though they were small, still a lot of fun to catch! Unfortunately we had to leave them biting because my friend’s girlfriend got a little cold on her kayak.

We were using the DOA pearl paddle tails. I honestly think they would have bitten anything that we threw at them though. We tried the same spot a few days before and did not get a bite, so I didn’t expect to catch much. This time, I left the cooler at home to lighten my load a little bit. All fish were left to catch on another day :sunglasses:

There always eems to be that “magic window” during an outgoing/incoming tide when the fish are moving and hugry. Man, I wish I could figure out that window. Good for you!
