first post just so ya’ll know…
went down to surfside beach for a week with the family. Little surf fishin during the fist couple days, but just to pass the time til my dad got there and we could take the boat.
after he got there, fished three days in a row in the inlet.
day 1: dropped my mom off on a beach in the inlet straight behind the jetty. fished in a creek mouth right next to the beach and caught a flounder, but too small to keep. Next thing i know my brother landon and my friend drew are crowdin me out so I gave up and went back later. Lost two specs bout a foot long right at the bank. got in the boat and fished the next creek over and my buddy drew caught what landon thought was a pompano but i thought was some kind of jack.
day 2: spent a lot more time out in the open ocean. lots of mullet, menhaden and pinfish running in the inlet right now, so plenty of bait. caught a few small sharks, a bluefish, and a whiting.
day 3: fishing in the same spot as day one, had the boat beached on the bank and fished cut bait out the back of the boat and into the inlet. drews dad caught a 60 lb ray that way. but the creek mouths were great. caught three flounder, a trout, and a bunch of spot, but could feel hits almost every cast.
pics once i figure out how to get em on. every time i fished in the creek mouths i used gulp shrimp on a 1/4 oz jighead. all colors will work, but for best results go with light colors.
