Thank you Sir! The Committee is meeting regularly about every 3 weeks, including today. I will be releasing details as they come, but for now, count on:
- SCUBA Division
- Freedive Division
- Junior Division
Both inshore and offshore species will be counted up to 8 species, in a points system. We are also considering a bonus or wildcard which will be either Lobster and/or Lionfish.
Species Categories Considered (assuming open season)
- All Groupers
- Snapper (Mangrove/Cuberra)
- Hogfish
- Flounder
- Sheepshead
- Pompano/Cobia
- Spadefish
- Triggerfish
Wildcard: Lobster/Lionfish
Prizes will be Gear and Cash. We have lots of sponsors on board already, including all the big dive equipment and speargun names. Event is going to be held at Spuds. Washout dates are the next weekend. More to come.

Looking forward to it, I know y’all have been working on getting it off the ground. Will it be based on one day of diving or aggregate of all?
It will be an aggregate. We are basing our points system based off the Florida tournaments, i.e., Blue Storm, Palm Beach, Spear Wars, etc…

I don’t know who I’m shooting with yet. Yall put together a team and let me know how man people you have. See if you can get a few other teams put together. We need as many participants as we can get. It’ll be nice to finally have a local tournament. I think the quality of the prizes are really going to surprise everyone.

“The Congressman”…Very funny. I think I like “over 40” and “washed up and married” even better. I figured “washed up and married” would eventually get on here and say something. He’s been a distant memory for a while. Where are you Rob? Kent is definitely shooting. He’s already training.
