Murrells Inlet Friday 3/30

Went out to Murrells Inlet wanted to catch some sheepshead. Took 3 first timers. Hooked up to some lame structure that wasn’t holding nothing but seabass. So after catching a few of those to evade a shutout and maintain good spirits we attempted to move to a different structure. The structure that we originally stuck to had other things in mind and would not let go of my anchor. After about a 30 minute battle I just there the remaining rope in the water. So after losing an anchor we had to head back in. Luckily I keep a mushroom anchor in the boat so we hit a back creek and set up on a random dock. First cast hooked up a 16 inch flounder on a gulp split tail. We switched docks several time but got nothing. Had a good day though. Water was nice out at 3 mile. Wish my anchor would have come loose. Anyone do any good?

Had my gear packed up, kayak ready, and tied up some flies last night… and then stayed home haha. The idea of a thunder boomer sneaking up on me in a kayak just wasnt worth it. Although the arrival of the in-laws today did give me a late push towards going but ended up staying home. Looks like I may have made a good choice. The flounder does sound nice though, and at least you were catching something. I got skunked last week.

got 3 yesterday, only keper. got 3 more flounder today, but all were small. got soaked this am. Good job on the 16" keeper
