Def has been quiet. But it’s also been HOT and of course anyone who has been fishing will have the same report…lol…35-50’ of water from 530-8am. After that it dies off considerably. Couple reporting boards working this past weekend but as of yesterday and today those fish went ahead and went deeper.
Anyone that hadn’t been fishing and needs a starting point for this weekend here’s some numbers. Hope I don’t burn anyone’s spot they been fishing. I haven’t been fishing these fish but seeing them every time I head to the landing, so I don’t know what size they are.

Board is quiet because nothing that worked on Friday worked on Monday …
We actually limited out on planer boards over the weekend, but couldn’t catch anything on them on Monday …
Switching everything over to downrods after yesterday … I’ll keep the boards on the boat 'cause we’ll still use them but it’ll all be with weights …
… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Chip,
Based on your water temperatures, this was not this week. Way too cool for today’s water temperatures.

Chip’s correct, Rick … it was 81 degrees where we were over the weekend … that’s why we could still pull planers … Monday those areas were pushing 85 - 88 which is part of the reason why it’s back to square 1 for finding the fish …
Well this morning when we left the dock, the water was 90.1 degrees. When we quit 20 minutes ago, it was 93.2!!
Fishing was tough, and everything we caught was on down rods, altho we saw stripers busting the surface and swimming by the boat. They would not hit free lines or weighted free lines. Most of the fish were 25’ to 55’ deep, over 40’ to 65’ FOW.

Well somebody was working these fish. I’m seeing the straight line of a downrod sinker and the zig zag of a jigging spoon on the left side of the screen.

Very true james. I wondered if anyone seen that…lol… Guess I should have said I haven’t been fishing these fish like I would normally be fishing them. Usually on the way back to the ramp just throw a spoon through them, haven’t ever set more than 5 min on them. It’s Usually pretty hot by the time I see them. Haven’t dropped herring on them yet but haven’t caught them on a spoon either, but been using the 8" ben parker spoon

What time are you trolling Tim? Can’t decide if I want to head out at midnight, or hit it at 5:30 am. I figure the results will be much the same, just the later with more sleep.

Hope to get on the water by 8, but if I wind up working late it may be later. I’m off tomorrow and haven’t been in about a month, so either way I will probably troll a few hours, get some sleep on the boat and then jig spoons for the first couple of hours in the am before going home.

edit: looks like storms this evening…I’ll probably put and troll about midnight. Give me a call if you make it out. I’m still going to fish the first couple of hours of daylight too.
Anyone know what Ned’s hours are now?
