My 15yo daughter smoked me on Sunday

I took my 15 year old daughter to a flat in Beaufort on Sunday. I broke one fish off, and my daughter caught 2! One was 19 inches and the other 18 inches. Here are some pictures:

19 incher on!

19 inch fish

18 inch fish.

I went out this evening on my way home from work and redeemed myself. I caught two, the first 24" and while I was landing him I looked behind me and there were two tailing back there. Finished landing him and went back there and caught a 28" bruiser that took me half way into my backing. I was using an epoxy spoon fly that I tie, and my daughter used a black cherry dupree spoon fly.

If you are going to be out-fished, at least it was family. Always good to see the kids fishing; especially fly fishing. Good job dad on bring up your daughter right.

Give her my congratulations. And you did OK too, I guess.

How long has she been throwing flies?

VERY Nice!! My oldest daughters don’t like to fish anymore but my youngest wants to learn to fly fish, if I am gonna get out fished then it’s always easier to swallow when it’s your daughter  When mine were younger they used to wear out the fish and do the same thing to me as I did to my dad " I caught all the fish!!" Awesome job to both of you!!!

She salt water fly fished for the first time Last July, and caught her first redfish on a fly then. She was 14 then. She started doing some trout fishing (freshwater type) with me when she was 13. She is a really great kid, and I am proud of her. Having said that, yesterday I had to stop at a flat on my way home from work to redeem myself. I caught two, one 24 inches and the other 28 inches.
