My 8wt reel blows

It’s a cheap Okuma Sierra 7/8wt. It’s painted and all the paint is chippin off from oxidation(I’m guessing…).

I’d rather see if anyone’s got a spare nice reel layin around they wouldn’t mind gettin rid of before I go buy a new one. I’d prefer one that is anodized and won’t oxidize or anything like my current POS.

Still on the quest for my first fish on the fly. Went and practiced castin for about 2 hours today. Slowly but surely I’m gettin there…

Rapchizzle-

Check out the Ross Momentum. They are clearing them out for the newest Momentum LT, which is just a bit lighter, same drag system. Great reel, half price! here’s a link:

That is a nice reel at a pretty ■■■■ good price for what they were selling for but I think it’s a little outta my price range. Good lookin out though!

Lamson Radius 3 - yours for just $132.

It’s a great reel at a great deal (totally meant to rhyme there). It’s much more than you’ll get out of a $100 Loomis Venture or $120 Orvis Battenkill.

Just me .02.

Shoot me a PM - we might be able to work on that next week.

Looks nice. Still wanna see if someone has one layin around before I go splurge on a brand new one. I’ll definitely keep that one in mind though.

I have an Okuma Sierra 7/8 that I have been using in the salt for over 2 years now and not a scuff on it… well til I brought it to Iraq :stuck_out_tongue: After every trip I hose it down good and she is still kickin hard after 2 years of ff in the salt… I wouldn’t give up my Okuma for anything  The new SLV 89 is more of a metal finnish and it’s only about $65 you should check that out… I got one waiting for me at home for when I get back.

Rap - I don’t have an extra, but go on ebay and buy yourself an Okuma Cascade 7/9 reel for around $28 bucks. Mine are going on 3 years of abuse and no problems. I rarely even rinse them off.

Rap, once you hook that first fish on the fly, life will change forever. Be careful not to make it harder than is is. Good luck! Wally
