got off work to late to make it tonight i feel like a real douche i would humbly ask for the forgiveness of all involved hope everything went great and there was a good turn out wish i could have been there so whats the news what happend how many people showed any good ideas any trips planned cant wait to find out and next time i will definetly be there no matter what

well patrick,it went sort of like this.there was 8 or 9 of us there.
first we talked about that tournament dee is havin.then it was suggested that once we get this club formed,we might just do our own tournaments every so often.everyone there was very interested in trading places to fish,goin fishing together different places.we talked about the importance of posting when your gonna go fishin if youre lookin for others to go.it was kind of decided we hold off formin the club so to speak until some of the others that couldnt make it show up next time.quite frankly most of us are new or newer at this and need you experienced guys to show up and decide how you want this club to go.i would suggest this:think about a club name.how you would want to run the club.do you want an officer so to speak who would kind of oversee things the club would do,functions,tournaments,cook-outs,camp-outs,whatever.you have people here willing to join a club.and i think they will show next time.but you experienced fellows on this site need to decide how you want to run this.tonite proved that a club will work in this town.there was only one other guy there that has been on here very long.hopefully everyone that was there that belongs to this site will post here to let you know they were there.dont feel bad-you couldnt make it-it happens.lets step up now and get this thing rollin.i can say everyone there is excited about a club-lets do it!had fun tonite talkin to everyone.see you all soon.
Sounds like a great start, wish I could have been there. there are a couple different ways to go about the club thing, the first and what ya’ll seem to be leaning towards is a more organized approach with a few officers and regular meetings and such, a great model for this is the TKAA which is based in Va Beach area. I am a member of this club and know most of the active participants fairly well, we may be able to get some help from them on how to get going if this is how we decide to roll. the other way to do the club thing is very informal the way Jax does it. I am also a member of this club, no, I am not a club whore, I just have been moving around alot this year. I am new to the Jax club and not sure exactly how things get done but I will try to figure it out. My first suggestion is that for our next meeting, we pick some place that is not a bar. I enjoy a cold beer as much as the next guy, but it may be more inviting to more people if we had it some where like a pavilion at a park or something like that where we can BYOB but no one feels left out because we’re in a bar and they can’t or don’t drink. TKAA actually meets in a tackle shop that has a some spare space kind of like the upstairs room at the West Ashley charleston angler or the loft at time out sports. I would not be suprised if C.A. would be willing to stay open a little late to host our meeting because I’m sure everyone would pick up at least something before or after the meeting, I know I can’t step foot in the place without spending like $30. The other thing we need to do is decide on our time and place at least 2 weeks in advance and post note cards on the buliten boards at the C.A. locations as well as Time out sports and other locations where they might be seen by local yakers who might not know about or post here. Also post on KFS and some other sites to get the word out. I wish I could take a more active role in putting this together but I live in Kingsland Ga even though M.C. is home and I visit frequentlty. It was great to get out and meet everyone last night. We need to figure out a time relatively soon that everyone can make it too! There have got to be more people out there who’d be interested in this club.
