Good stuff… I should have caught more, but I lined a fish that tailed right between myself and the other fish I was casting to. The 4 smaller fish were caught in water that did not cover my ankle bone… they were crawling all over the flat with their backs out, and even tried tailing a few times but there wasn’t enough water so they ended up doing the most ungraceful somersaults. I’ve never seen them in water that shallow, it was very very cool. I only had one resusal yesterday, it seems all the fish were hungry.
I had a big boy tail right next to me… within 10 feet or so. I almost wish I had my camera in hand for that instead of the 9wt… almost.
We saw over 20 fish…

We (chasing tail and i) saw a large number of lil rats (VERY shallow as well) on this flat that I haven’t fished in a couple years. More little ones than I have ever seen. Don’t think we saw one that was over 24in. I must have hit no less than 10 fish directly on the head resulting in a blowout. We had a couple of bites but the fish didn’t do right after they ate. One of mine ate and haulled a$$ right toward me and I stripped as fast as possible and just coudn’t keep up and the fly fell out. Worked very hard and came up empty, but I guess it happens, but not often!
You are evil and must be destroyed for fishs sake Jerms!!

I guess that was you getting off the maverick last night. We had a big group working, madmike and I each caught a fish in the 25" range. Pretty cool to do it on camera, shadowgrass has a guy who is working on a film.
We did see a few convicts tailing and that seems to be pretty common in that area. Always pisses you off to get over there and have the man in the striped suit show up.
Jerms, I do have some that are fair, but I got a couple great ones recently. I’ll try to remember to post it and you are free to download and blow it up.
yessir that was I. Saw a few sheads as well. But mostly little rat reds. Nice to see, but would rather see the fatties, as most would.
