Fished Folly today and man did we have a good trip! After a full year of 3 or 4 fish days (very very few reds) the fishing gods smiled down on me today. Lackluster start around 0730, caught 1 18" trout exploring newly accessible areas due to flood tide. Few blow ups on the spook jr, it was a normal day until we moved and the water started moving out. Moved to a spot I first fished when I moved here last year, one poppin cork out with a live shrimp and immediately it goes under…another trout in the 12-14" range. Dropped anchor and it was ON for almost 2 hours!!! We started pulling nice trout left and right…then the reds showed up to the party!! Had one really strong run and fight resulting in a break off, but still managed 5 (finally!!!) in the 13-16" range, all on live shrimp. Trout were apparently famished and we gladly fed them! 15+ from 13 to 18".
Halfway thru this my buddy wants to make a run to Crosbys for more shrimp, we did that and came back and they were still hungry!! Got back on um again! He kept on with live shrimp and I went to the trout trick, we both did great but the trout trick brought the bigger trout and more of them! Finished up with another 15 or so, the water had stopped moving and it got shallow.
5 reds and 30 odd trout!!! What a day! I sure do love my new home !
