I debated over getting this one for the last month, but finally pulled the trigger and glad I did. Took it to the Carolina loss this weekend and got some great stuff.
If the fine folks at CF ever make a way to upload directly to the site without using a host website, I’ll start posting my stuff again…until then, I might have to add a sports section to my website.
What were you shooting before? 60D?
That earthquake I think really screwed Canon up… they were suppose to have their new cameras ready for Christmas but now “people” are saying it’s going to be the 1st quarter of next year.

Slowpoke, I have been using the XSI for the last few years. It’s an entry level DSLR. It now feels like a toy in my hand compared to the feel of the 7D. Magnesium Alloy Body vs Plastic makes a lot of difference. The sensors are better, the images sharper with the same lenses…now I just need to get some of those high dollar L lenses and I’ll be dangerous.
The 7D is three times faster for FPS. I’m loving it. Plus 18Mp vs 12, so its a healthy jump up for me.
You made the move at the right time, that is a great price for the camera. I’m upgrading when Canon comes out with their new camera… I really want to get into the HD Video aspect of the DSLR. It’s like you have a Hollywood movie camera.

I was thinking about it. The wife was talking about using it, but she has a nice point and shoot that she rarely uses now. Plus I haven’t decided if it would be a good backup or not.

I am looking but not too sure what to look for/get… I’m doing a lot of traveling and fun and exciting things while I’m still a youngin so I figured it might be a good idea to take some good quality pictures so when I’m you’re age, I’ll be able to remember! I just ordered a new little point and shoot for carrying on the boat and in the kayak and backpacking and whatnot but am still looking at a nicer DSLR for when I have the opportunity to use it.

Check out the Nikon D7000, awesome camera for a great price. Can’t go wrong. The 7D is a great camera also if you like Canon.
