My First Cobia

My first cobia trip produced. I really enjoyed myself. It has been a while since I have gone past the rocks so I was excited to get out where the water was clear. We anchored up and fished menhadden under a balloon. I was sceptical about this technique, however my buddy Josh knew what he was doing. Saw a ton of fish but only got one to eat. Made for a great day on the water.

Very nice. I hear cobia is delicious. You ought to get some nice fillets out of that one.

Nice one. Fire up the grill.

Nice fish!!! how far do u have to go out to catch them?

fish nude so u can show off ur pole…

SWEET!

use a net instead of a gaff with cobia. as soon as you gaff a cobia, the fish starts spinning and usually tears a huge hole and comes off gaff. with the net, they are very calm and easy to handle. plus no boat full of blood. nice fish.

Great fish Adam! I third what JR said regarding net vs. gaff. Good luck with toting a net that size though! Tight lines -

Fish to live.
